With a last name like Brauser (which sounds like a web browser), I’ve heard many, many people jokingly ask me over the years if I like to go “browsing around” on my various travels. So it seems only fitting that I’d name this blog “Travel Browsing.”
To me, travel browsing means dipping a toe in, trying new adventures, saying yes to the interesting moments that come along, and always keeping your eyes wide open. For 7 years I lived in the tourist capital of the world (Orlando, Florida) and racked up numerous theme park stories, reviews of the area’s newest thrill rides, hotel and resort descriptions, and family destination pieces. Because my other specialty is health/medical writing, I’ve also written stories on healthy travel, medical convention destinations, and new research on how certain climates can affect mental health.
I am now based in the beautiful “Natural State” of Arkansas, in the western region/Fort Smith area. This gorgeous locale is home to a fascinating mix of mountains, bluffs, and rivers; lovingly restored historic sites (including the only former bordello on the National Register of Historic Places!); and world class entertainment, including symphonies, theater productions, and concerts.
In other words, there are plenty of adventures to find here in my own backyard as well as across the world. So this blog is dedicated to reporting on happenings in Western Arkansas… and beyond, along with sharing travel, packing, and airport tips I’ve learned over the years from experience or from other travel experts. Oh, and my love of rollercoasters and thrill rides is as strong as ever! So I’ll continue to be on the look-out for the newest, scariest, and very best. Any suggestions are very welcome!
