Round-Up Saturday: Travel News from the Past Week

As part of Blogathon 2013, I’ve been posting to the Travel Browsing blog every day in June. And while the writing and research have been a lot of fun, so has stumbling upon interesting sites, blogs, and stories. Here’s a short round-up of just some of the online articles I found especially helpful this week:

1) With Friday’s news of Southwest Airlines’ massive computer glitch and the subsequent grounding of its entire flight, the Minneapolis StarTribune posted:  How to complain about air travel woes .

2) Posted earlier today from Time Magazine:  5 Summer Travel Scams to Avoid   (Note to self  – beware of the Pineapple!)

3) From USA Today on Thursday – Guilt Trip:  Pet travel can be stressful for people too.  (Includes the fact that 15% of pet owners have snuck their dogs into “pets not allowed” hotels.)

This article reminds me of one I wrote for Southern Hospitality Magazine  a few years ago about hotels and resorts that specialize in pampering your pooch:  Bring Rover on Over

The bottom line from all these articles:  be polite and alert when traveling, and don’t let pet guilt keep you from enjoying your vacation. There are plenty of places that will take care of Fido in style!
